All online Danish courses at Dansk Sprogskole are 100% free, including levels A0, A1, A2, B1 and B2.
When you later move on to official education at HF & VUC (FVU Start and FVU levels 1–4), this is also free.
There is no payment, no obligation, and no hidden costs 😊

Can I learn Danish online?

Yes. Dansk Sprogskole is 100% online.

Long answer:
You learn Danish through:

  • live online lessons with real Danish teachers
  • supportive online communities


You can study from home, from work, or from anywhere else that suits you.

Can I learn Danish if I don’t live in Denmark?

Short answer:
Yes. You can study from anywhere in the world.

Long answer:
You do not need to live in Denmark or have a Danish CPR number to study at Dansk Sprogskole.
One of the core ideas behind Dansk Sprogskole is that you can start learning Danish before moving to Denmark.
Many of our students live abroad while preparing for a future in Denmark.

Do I need a CPR number to start?

Short answer:
No.

Long answer:
A CPR number is not required to study at Dansk Sprogskole.
A CPR number is only required if you later want to continue in the official Danish education system (FVU, AVU, HF) at HF & VUC after moving to Denmark.

Which levels can I study at Dansk Sprogskole?

Short answer:
A0, A1, A2, B1 and B2.

Long answer:
Dansk Sprogskole works with the following levels:

You can start at the level that fits you best, no matter where you live.

What happens when I reach A2 and live in Denmark?

Short answer:
We help you move on to HF & VUC.

Long answer:
When you reach A2 and live in Denmark, Dansk Sprogskole helps arrange a screening with HF & VUC.
HF & VUC carries out the official assessment and placement and decides which FVU level you should start at.
You can only start FVU after this official assessment.
Dansk Sprogskole supports you throughout the transition.

Is Dansk Sprogskole official Danish education?

Short answer:
No – but we help you all the way.

Long answer:
Dansk Sprogskole provides voluntary, preparatory Danish language learning.
All official education, assessment, placement and certification under:

  • FVU Start
  • FVU levels 1–4
  • AVU
  • HF

is carried out exclusively by HF & VUC, in full compliance with Danish law.
Participation at Dansk Sprogskole does not replace official FVU education and does not include formal assessment or certification.
However, Dansk Sprogskole supports you all the way.
We cooperate closely with the official Danish education system and help guide you forward when you are ready.

Who teaches at Dansk Sprogskole?

Short answer:
Real Danish teachers.

Long answer:
You are taught by educated Danish teachers, including teachers with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree.
Teaching is friendly, supportive, and focused on helping you move forward step by step.

Can I use Dansk Sprogskole if I already attend a language school?

Short answer:
Yes.

Long answer:
Dansk Sprogskole works very well as a supplement to other language courses or schools.
Many learners use Dansk Sprogskole to:

Can Dansk Sprogskole help me reach university in Denmark?

Yes – but the path depends on your background.

The path to higher education in Denmark depends on the education you bring from your home country.

If you do not have a formal education, the typical path is:

  • Learn Danish (A0–A2)
  • Continue with FVU, AVU and HF at HF & VUC
  • Apply for higher education


If you already have an upper-secondary education, the path may be shorter once your Danish is strong enough.
Dansk Sprogskole helps you with Danish and guides you to the next step when you are ready.
